Pediatric Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy can be helpful for infants and young children. Quite often the birthing process is a traumatic experience for both the mom and her baby. Craniosacral therapy gently encourages the release of trauma stored in the nervous system and normalizes the movement of the child’s cranium. My background in psychology and specifically attachment theory strongly influence my approach in using Craniosacral therapy with infants and their mothers.
Here are some common conditions that can be helped by pediatric Craniosacral therapy:
- Traumatic Birth (forceps, suction, Cesarian, Premature)
- Neonatal Trauma (Accidents, Infections, Surgery, Separation)
- Nursing Difficulties (Poor Latch, Tense Jaws, Mother’s Pain)
- Torticollis (Turning mostly to one side)
- Oddly Shaped & Partially Flattened Head
- Sleeping Difficulties
- Colic, Tense Baby & Failure-to-Thrive Syndrome
- Mother / Child Relationship Challenges & Post Partum Depression
- Seizures & Motor Problems
- Chronic Ear Infections
